2 local and state The Herald, Thursday, July 28, 1994 deaths Florence P. McKinney, 82, Jasper Florence P. McKinney, 82, Jasper, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 1994, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Jasper. She was born at Dubois Sept.

24, 1911, to Dr. Ulysses Grant and Bernadine (Schroering) Kelso. She married Mearrald J. McKinney April 25, 1942; and he died in 1989. Surviving are a brother, Dr.

Charles Kelso of Vincennes, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Mrs. McKinney was a vocational home economics teacher and school social worker. She was a member of Precious Blood Ladies Sodality, Retired Teachers Association and American Association of Retired Persons.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Precious Blood Catholic Church, Jasper. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will be. from 1 to 8 p.m.

Friday at the Becher and Kluesner Downtown Chapel, Jasper. The parish will say a rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Parish. Martin C. Fallon, 63, Louisville Martin C.

Fallon, 63, Louisville, Ky. and 10306 E. Lick Fork Marina Road, Celestine, died Wednesday, July 27, 1994, in University of Louisville Hospital. He was a native of Akron, Ohio. Surviving are his wife, the former Shirley Jean Hoffman of Jasper; three sons, Bernard W.

FalIon of Celestine and Bryan M. and Michael G. Fallon of Louisville; seven daughters, Myra Huffman, Kathleen Skaggs, Maureen Atchison, Miriam Fallon-Siebert, Christine Fallon-Siebert, Colleen Crum and Mary Lynn Fallon of Louisville; a sister, Doris Cogan of Louisville; and five grandchildren. Loogootee. Brother John Simmons will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Ida Helming funeral Friday Services for Ida M.

Smith, 38, Crothersville David Michael Smith, 38, Crothersville, formerly of Washington, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 1994, in Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. He was burned in an electrical accident July 19 at Walesboro Substation south of Columbus. Surviving are his wife, Linda; a daughter, Melissa Dawn Smith, and a son, Aaron Michael Smith, both at home; his parents, John and lone Smith of Washington; two sisters, Julia Ann Enyart of Hobe Sound, and Mary Beth Brown of Adrian, and five brothers, Carl E. Smith of Hope, Robert Leslie and Phillip W.

Smith of Washington and Mark H. Smith of Otwell. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Central Christian Church in Washington. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory- Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Church of the Nazarene in Seymour and from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gill Chapel in Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the David Smith Memorial Fund at First Church of the Nazarene in Seymour. Florence P.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 220, Knights of Columbus Monsignor Newman Council and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, all of Louisville.

today, Thursday, July 28, 1994, at Northood Good Samaritan Health Center, Jasper. He was born in Dubois County Jan. 27, 1903, to Fred and Margaret (Schott) Beck. Surviving are a sister, Lena Mills of Kalamazoo, a brother, Otto Beck of Jasper; and several nieces and nephews. Mr.

Beck was a timber and sawmill operator in Dubois County. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Dubois, and American Legion Post 147 of Jasper. He was an Army veteran of World War II. The funeral will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Dubois. Pastor Ron Oelrich will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m.

Friday and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday at the Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home in French Lick and after 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Vernon Hunt, 56, Loogootee Ida M. Helming Vernon Hunt, 56, 419 SW Third Loogootee, died at 6:10 a.m.

Wednesday, July 27, 1994, in the Bedford Regional Medical Center in Bedford, after a lengthy illness. He was born at Loogootee June 28, 1938, to Porter and Flossie (Chattin) Hunt. Surviving are his mother, Flossie Hunt. of Loogootee, and three sisters, Lillian Bruner and Delphia Street of Loogootee and Millie Potts of Washington. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hunt.

Mr. Hunt was a self-employed farmer and independent trucker. He attended the Mount Zion Wesleyan Church. Smith told police he heard a door behind the desk area close. and the stranger approached him with a gun, Diekhoff said. The man ordered Smith to empty the hotel cash drawer into a bag.
